Since the 60´s and 70´s the computer has been one of the tools that it was used for academic purposes.
They were big as a fridge, the pc worked by the conecction of cables through the calculous centres universities pc which they were the bigger ones.
One of the activities that were used in these computers was the "drill and practice." The exercises are the so-called -drill and practice-, this theory explains that the more repeated a material is when it comes to teaching, the better results will be obtained. This activity was used in the behaviourism stage.
Moving on. Through the 80´s the appearance of the personal computer, also called a microcomputer, started to develop and adding evolution to the meaning of technology and study activities.
The next stage of study was the communicative stage. This consisted on cognitive thoughts and interactivity. The student must carry a search order choice and interaction with the computer to get the correct answer.
Also included here are programs in which the computer worked as a tool, like word processors as an example of the activities that were used.
Finally, in the 90´s the World Wide Media was born and within the the rise of the internet. It is nowadays that thanks to those events, studying has been more easy with all the technology that has been appeared.
Anyway, in the 90´s there was one new study method called integrative stage. This consisted on the use of social and cognitive thoughts. One of the most common activities is project-based because students are needed to be exposed to environments to solve social problems.
